After laser beam is irradiated, the photon is absorbed in the melanin.
TWO

As the melanin started emitting a number of free electron, the electron plasma density is increased that makes hot plasma ball to be formed. It spreads heat to the surrounding tissue and expands forming microbubbles in the tissue.

The micro-bubble is formed in epidermis or dermis that leads to skin regeneration through formation of elastin and collagen.

Why 300ps?
Stress Relaxation Time (SRT) of 1㎛ melanosome is 300ps. The shock wave caused by the picosecond pulse acts only on the melanosome without being transmitted to the surrounding tissues.
Thermal Relaxation Time (TRT) of 10–100nm tattoo ink particle is 100ps-10ns. 300ps is equipped with appropriate pulse duration to destroy smaller particles than other picoseconds lasers.
The occurence of microbubbles in the skin is more pronounced with higher peak power associated with a shorter pulse duration. A 300ps pulse duration, coupled with high peak power, enhances LIOB formation, thereby increasingt the skin rejuvenation effect.
